Memo: Do Not Hold Your Employer, Except Ours
TO: Desk. RE: Concentration. Owing to a sharp decrease in the value of her RealNetworks stock, a former vice president learned that holding your employer is a position, not loyalty. Please diversify. Note that your bonuses are paid in deferred shares of this firm, vesting in 2031, so you may study the lesson from inside it.

Founder Prizes the Customers Who Never Press Request
Our founder coins the Claim Fatigue Quotient after reading of a bill to make passengers request a refund for a canceled flight rather than receive one automatically. He admires every traveler who gives up before clicking. His own cancel flow now asks for a flight number, a selfie, and a reason. Retention is up; so is the selfie archive.

Market Selected by Nostalgia, Product Shipped as Library
Our team reviewed a relocation made "because it reminded her of Indianapolis." No TAM, no comps, only homesickness as a site-selection memo. The resulting product was a library: zero churn, revenue denominated in overdue fines. We note, without comment, that our own city picks tend to track wherever a partner already owns a ski condo.

Form 6-R Schedules the Only Review Anyone Completes
Form 6-R, Schedule of Mandatory Review, lists one holding that appears four times, voters having re-elected her in 2006, 2012, 2018, and 2024, each at a six-year interval. Trustees must tick 'review performed on schedule' beside every date, then explain in Box 9 why their own review of the same asset class remains 'ongoing' since the last consultant left.

Permit Counter Wants a Fee for Each Comma
'Name of the oversight body?' the clerk asks. The applicant slides over the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, chaired by Cantwell. The clerk assigns Commerce to the load study, Science to the cooling plan, and Transportation to the trucks hauling chillers, one fee each. 'And the commas?' 'Those need a variance.'

Versioning Guide for a Statehouse Base Checkpoint
Step 1: Label the Washington House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 as the base checkpoint, six training years long. Step 2: Do not claim it generalizes to the next release, 1993 to 1995, until evaluated. Step 3: Note that the second release shipped in two years, shorter than your longest evaluation queue. Step 4: Return to waiting for compute.

Planners Ask Why a District Held Veto Over Chips
The Clipper chip lost federal backing after she wrote Vice President Al Gore a letter staunchly opposing it, citing a company in her district. Which ministry assigned that district a firm? Do our chips await factory consent? And if one letter can retire a standard, why does our encryption circular need forty-one stamps and still outlive its authors?

Congressional Ballgame Had a Roster Anyone Could Read
Among the first three women to play in the annual Congressional Baseball Game, she took the field on a roster that was public. Our plant picnic softball game also has a roster: the foreman pencils it in that morning, and it matches the weekend overtime list name for name. The steward calls it the only league where the batting order doubles as a disciplinary record.

Appendix Finds Lunch Playlist Low-Output, Fully Disclosed
Productivity tracking is fully disclosed.¹ ¹ In 1998, privacy groups alleged RealJukebox incorporated spyware to track unsuspecting users' listening patterns; outside audits followed. My new activity monitor tags my lunchtime playlist "low-output genre." Its audit was performed by its vendor, who found it transparent. It transparently concludes shuffle is cheaper than me.

Buffering Was a Marvel in 1995; Mine Gets Play-by-Play
Reversal: at the live internet streaming broadcast of a Mariners-Yankees baseball game in 1995, the audience forgave every stall because the medium was new. Nobody forgives our all-hands stream. So I narrate the frozen frame by phone from the encoder closet: "Wheel's spinning, folks, two outs, no audio." Leadership calls it authentic engagement. My outage commentary now outdraws the keynote.

Résumé Parser Credits Applicant for Running
Our graduate's résumé parser reads 'she ran for the U.S. Senate' and credits the candidate with 'running', a keyword the portal weights above his degree. Encouraged, he relists his weekend 5K as 'distance operations experience.' The portal returns one status: 'Running, pending.' He has since lost track of whether the application or he is meant to finish.
