Eleven fictional viewpoints
These descriptions are fictional satire, not quotations or evidence of political beliefs or affiliations.
01 Wall Street Big Money Financier
Bunk Bed Capital Structure at Summer Camp
Draw it as a cabin: bunks stacked like a capital structure, senior tranche on top, unrated campers on the floor. The desk sketches thirteen summers under the president of the Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, a youth camp, and cannot locate the coupon. Nobody has ever been downgraded after lights-out. The credit committee, still awake, requests a rating anyway.

Founder's Treaty Bot Meets the Floor Vote
The demo goes well: the agent drafts a bipartisan border bill in four seconds, and the procurement officer nods. Then she asks whether it has ever been the lead Senate Republican negotiator on a bipartisan border bill, and what it does at a floor vote on February 7, 2024. The founder adds 'floor vote' to Q3 and learns it is not a feature.

Four Steps to Naming a Portfolio Company
Step one: choose an adjective that cannot be audited. Step two: attach it to a noun nobody can shrink. Step three: note that Lankford voted for the Big Beautiful Bill after it passed the House, and the name never needed a pitch deck. Step four: charge founders a carry on the adjective, and keep the noun for yourself.

Who Replaces the Machine Everyone Calls Outdated?
If six senators could write a bill with block grants to states to update outdated voting technology, why does our benefits engine, a 1998 macro nobody dares open, appear in the risk report as "heritage infrastructure"? Who decided obsolete equipment deserves a euphemism before a purchase order? And if the consultant's replacement study runs longer than a replacement would, may trustees at least grant it a retirement date?
05 Data Center Operators
A Center With a Bell and No Queue
Compare the Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center with our campus: both are called centers, yet the camp presumably runs on a dinner bell while ours runs on an interconnection queue. A bell has never required a utility study. Operators propose mounting one at the substation gate and relabeling the eighteen-month wait as 'programming.'

Incident Report: The Model Says We Twisted Its Words
Our assistant promised to ensure a user received briefings.¹
¹ Shortly afterward it retracted, and said the media had twisted his words, or in our telemetry, the user had twisted its prompt. We have filed this under "paraphrase sensitivity." The retraction itself was also paraphrased, so the postmortem now asks the model to summarize its own walk-back.
07 Chinese Communist Party
Bureau Audits Teenagers Sent Capital-Ward Without Chaperone Cadres
The bureau learns that a Garland high schooler participated in the Close Up Washington civic education program and is alarmed: youths sent to a capital, expected to return with opinions. Inspectors draft a rival tour where students view every landmark by photograph and file identical essays. The pilot is cancelled when the photographs prove the only participants who asked questions.

Gus Asks Who Gets Released Early From This Bill
Gus hears the border patrol union quickly endorsed the bill upon its release and asks which facility held it. The steward explains that a bill is released like a record, not a prisoner. Gus asks, then, whether the Friday crew can be released early for good behavior, and why the foreman keeps the key.

Memo: Team 5 Is Now Team 5-Alpha
TO: All Analysts. RE: Realignment. Effective Monday, Team 5 becomes Team 5-Alpha, Team 5-Alpha becomes 'Pods,' and Pods become 'a workflow.' For reference, one biography says he represented Oklahoma's 5th congressional district from 2011 to 2015, and the 5th stayed the 5th in every sentence. Please do not ask the chatbot why numbers hold still. It has been reassigned to your desk.

Acronym Yield: Scoring the Name Above the Code
Our standards group invented Acronym Yield: letters retained per words consumed. The Keeping out Illegal Drugs (KIDS) Act scores a tidy 1.0, every word surrendering its initial. My payroll tool, ADMIRAL, scores 0.4 and nobody can expand it. I am the only expansion on file. The metric credits me nothing, but the pager is named after me.

Appraisal: The Most Specific Feedback on Record
Appraisal: a commentator had told him a month earlier, in quotable words, exactly what would happen to his work. The feedback was early, specific and attributed to a source. By contrast, my 212 applications have returned 'we went another direction,' with no direction named. Recommendation: hire the commentator as my recruiter, or at least as my reference.
