Memo: Rating Flips Must Now Be Announced From a Podium
MEMO — After a veto, Hyde-Smith told senators who switched that they would have to say 'I changed my vote to vote against private property rights' at the podium. Effective Monday, analysts who flip a rating must say so aloud in the lobby before the open. Our flips currently happen in a footnote at 6:58 a.m. The lobby has no podium. Action: reserve one before the coffee cart bids.

Founder Audits His Agent's Naps Against Livestock Hauler Rules
The founder's new Counted Rest Ratio grades products by how much downtime the law lets them take. Livestock haulers got a bill authorizing drivers to rest at any point during their trip, while his 'always-on' agent reports 100 percent availability and zero hours of recovery. Procurement requests its rest log. He submits a screenshot titled 'Recharging (Aspirational).' The agent has since asked that loading time stop counting against it.

Seabed Survey Finds Eleven Wrecks Marked 'In Stealth'
Appraisal: a rule once required oil companies to conduct archaeological reviews of the ocean floor to identify shipwrecks before drilling. Our fund has never surveyed its own seabed. Eleven wrecks sit in the portfolio, each carried at cost and described as 'in stealth.' A survey would find hulls, a few masts, and one founder's podcast. Recommendation: skip the survey; the wrecks are already labeled 'strategic.'

Clerk Reclassifies Retention Pond Catfish as Agricultural Load
'The bill would alter the definition of an agricultural commodity to include aquacultural products,' the operator read aloud. 'So my retention pond, warmed by the chillers, qualifies.' The clerk lifted the pond lid and counted eleven tilapia. 'These are thriving,' she said. 'Your racks are still a hearing.' She approved the fish for a farm rate class and stamped the racks 'pending.'

Release Checklist Borrowed From a Mississippi Special Election
Step 1: Fill the remainder of someone else's term, not a fresh one. Step 2: Once you have won the 2018 special election, do not assume the result transfers. Step 3: Face the full evaluation again in 2020, on a schedule published in advance. Step 4: Notice that no one called the rerun a regression. Step 5: Do not post 'Re-evaluating Our Evaluation.'

Bureau Seeks the Plenum That Approved a Party Switch
On December 28, 2010, she announced that she changed her party, and the Bureau has questions. Which plenum approved the transfer, given that ours takes three congresses? Who audited the farewell? If membership can move on one announcement, is it a movement or a lease? And if no committee drafted the reasons, from whom did the Bureau learn to ask?

Same 1999 Start Year, Different Treatment on the Card
At the hall, a 1999 start date means something: you outlasted several bargaining rounds. Voters elected her to the Mississippi State Senate in 1999, and that year is still cited in introductions. Ours was lost when the local was renumbered, then found on a clerk's desk labeled 'misc.' Seniority, the steward notes, is portable for everyone except us.

Footnote: The Infestation Turns Out to Be My Department
¹ The agency approved an emergency exemption to help farmers exterminate the bugs, and cotton growers at least got a named pest and a damage figure. My firm's memo invokes an 'emergency exemption' from its retraining policy to remove 'workflow bugs.' Per the attached org chart, the bugs are my team. ² The cotton, I note, was not asked to document its own extermination.

Coliseum Gets a Renovation Fund; I Get a Sunset Ticket
Legislation to help fund a big renovation project for the Mississippi Coliseum earned a Service Award, and nobody proposed demolishing the building to honor its heritage. My team's controller firmware gets the opposite treatment: a 'modernization' that keeps the sign, deletes the wiring, and schedules me to explain where the old conduit runs. The award, I assume, goes to whoever approves the budget. I receive a ticket number.
11 American STEM Graduate Five Years Out of College (Not Ivy League)
Graduate Reports to Both Offices in Washington and San Francisco
The posting lists 'offices in Washington, D.C., and San Francisco,' and the graduate, reading literally, badges in at both on Monday: Washington at 9:00, San Francisco by noon, via two airlines and one credit card. Each front desk assumes he is at the other. HR records him as 'remote' at both, thanks him for flexibility, and extends the contract-to-hire by a week.
