A simpler biography

This ASD-STE100 summary is a draft. Dictionary and editorial review remain open.

Bernardo Francisco Moreno Mejía was born on February 14, 1967, in Bogotá, Colombia. When Moreno was five, his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he grew up. Moreno earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Michigan.

Moreno moved to Ohio in 2005 and bought a Mercedes-Benz dealership in North Olmsted. In 2019, he began to sell some of his dealerships to focus on a blockchain technology company, Ownum. In 2023, Moreno settled more than 12 wage theft lawsuits and agreed to pay over $400,000 to two former employees.

On February 3, 2022, Moreno left the Republican Senate race. Reports say this followed a meeting with Donald Trump. Donald Trump endorsed Moreno in December 2023. Moreno won the Republican primary on March 19, 2024, and then defeated incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown in the general election.

Moreno took the oath as a junior U.S. senator on January 3, 2025. JD Vance resigned on January 10, so Moreno became the senior senator from Ohio. In 2025, Moreno introduced the Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025. It requires dual citizens to renounce their other citizenship.

Eleven fictional viewpoints

These descriptions are fictional satire, not quotations or evidence of political beliefs or affiliations.

01 Wall Street Big Money Financier

Desk Invents Lot Velocity to Price a Showroom

The desk's new Lot Velocity metric rates a man who bought a Mercedes-Benz dealership in North Olmsted at 0.4 bonds per showroom, since a car sits visibly in a window while a municipal bond sits in a custodian's drawer. Traders concede that inventory you can sit inside is the more honest asset. They then price their own book in cupholders, find it holds none, and quietly request leather.

Founder Appraises the Trade of Cars for Ownum

Appraisal: the subject sold dealerships to focus on a blockchain technology company, Ownum, which swaps inventory that depreciates visibly for inventory that depreciates inside a whitepaper. The founder finds this rigorous. Cars at least admitted to mileage. His own product has run eleven months on the phrase 'decentralized trust layer' and has never once been asked to start.

03 Venture Capital

Form 7-B Asks Whether the Saturn Was a Company

Form 7-B, Division Status: tick 'independent company' or 'division of a larger parent.' Someone who worked as an analyst and field consultant for the Saturn Corporation division never had to choose, so the partners tick both, claiming a founder's independence and a parent's balance sheet. Their platform team, one field consultant who visits quarterly, leaves a laminated card and an invoice.

04 Institutional Investors

Trustees Mistake a Citizenship Bill for a Concentration Limit

The chair reads aloud a bill that requires dual citizens to renounce their other citizenship, and the consultant nods: surely a single-holding mandate. 'No,' says counsel, 'it concerns people.' The room goes quiet until a trustee asks why their own policy statement demands exposure to forty countries, yet nobody has ever been required to renounce a custodian.

How to Covet a Paper Mill Without Saying So

Step 1: Note that Moreno negotiated a year-long delay in the closure of the Chillicothe Paper Mill, a site we will presume is rich in water intake, steam piping and a substation nobody has switched off. Step 2: Walk the fence line with a clipboard and admire the pipe. Step 3: Do not say 'conversion' aloud; operators who do are issued three hearings. Step 4: Label the clipboard 'Hot Aisle' and leave.

Who Certifies the Endorsement Before the Primary Runs?

When Donald Trump endorsed Moreno in December 2023, the primary was still three months off. So why does our eval card publish its verdict only after launch? Who certified the certifier? And if a result can be announced ahead of the vote, which red-teamer is permitted to predict a model's score before the weights finish training?

Delegates Admire the Americans' Portable Staffer

When a foundation biography wrongly credited Moreno with an MBA, his campaign blamed "a staffer who made a mistake." Delegates are moved: the culprit arrives as a person, replaceable and available to blame. Our own errors are blamed on 'objective conditions,' which cannot be reassigned or scolded. The committee moves to hire the staffer as a permanent cause of everything, effective before the next correction.

Footnote Fourteen Measures a Settlement in Steps

Footnote 14: Moreno settled more than 12 wage theft lawsuits in 2023 and agreed to pay over $400,000 to two former employees.¹ The steward reads this as a record of how long it takes to reach a figure. Her own grievance under Article 9 has cleared step three of five, and the arithmetic suggests she will retire at step four. ¹ See also: step four.

Hall of Fame Inducts Me After the Layoffs

Moreno was elected to the Cleveland Business Hall of Fame while still in business, still selling. My firm reversed the order: the lobby wall opened the week of layoffs and inducted my retired workflows, each on foam board with a one-line citation. The assistant attends its own unveiling. I am a legacy guest, seated behind a buffet that the inductee, eating nothing, has already been served.

Engineer Finds His Deploy Stack Named in a Subcommittee

Reading Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines, and Safety, the engineer concludes someone has finally documented his deploy system: a surface layer, payloads as freight, and a pipeline to carry them. He circles the last word, because the system has no safety stage. His ticket is routed to the pipeline team, which replies with a freight surcharge for adding one, billed per payload.

HR Memo: Relocation Requires Three Years in Fort Lauderdale

MEMO re: relocation. Records show that when Moreno was five, his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with no recruiter, no coding assessment, and no 'three years of Fort Lauderdale required.' Applicants relocating at twenty-six are advised that our portal demands all three. Reply with your move date; the system will reject it for lacking the keyword.
