Desk Reviews A Payout Event Held Near The Food Court
We rate the distribution mechanism unusual: balances were returned at the Lakeside Mall in Metairie, with holders arriving on foot and leaving with cash. Our own dormant-account workflow requires a portal, a medallion stamp and a quarter of silence. Recovery rate for the shopper channel exceeds ours. Recommendation: study the pretzel kiosk as a custody model, then bill for the study.

Alumni Profile Form Asks For Revenue, Gets A Job Title
The alumni-network profile form asks every member for 'Prior Role' and 'Revenue Generated.' Against Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue from 1996 to 1999, the founder types one column and stops, because the second column is already in the job title. His own entry, a stealth startup, reads 'community.' He resubmits with the field renamed 'vibes collected.'

Partners Discover Rural America Has Its Own Venture Program
Associate: "The Senate passed a bill that removes compliance costs on a venture capital program for rural businesses." Partner: "Rural? Which airport?" Associate: "Nearest is ninety minutes away." Partner approves a sourcing trip, then books a barn near the city, hangs a tractor on the wall, and calls the weekend Heartland Thesis. Catering is expensed as compliance.

How Trustees Should Read About An Elected Treasurer
Step 1: Read 'Voters elected him Louisiana State Treasurer in 1999' aloud to the investment committee. Step 2: Observe that the trustees seated nearest the money were chosen by a nominating subcommittee, not by anyone. Step 3: Pause while someone asks whether voters count as a consultant. Step 4: Record the answer as 'no RFP issued' and adjourn before the fee schedule comes up.

Who Gave The Grocery Six Mayonnaises And Us One Utility?
If a Capitol Hill grocery offers about six different types of mayonnaise, who approved that much choice for a jar? Does the cold case run on a feeder study? Why can a shelf of condiments stay chilled all afternoon while our chillers wait for a hearing? And if choice is the cure, may we please choose among six utilities, or at least two spreads?

Safety Team Envies A Title With One Named Client
The title is honest about its client: special counsel to Governor Buddy Roemer, one named principal, no ambiguity. Our safety team is also special, in that it reports to the roadmap it reviews. Unlike him, we have never said who the client is. Reviewers are drafting a title that matches the org chart: Special Counsel to the Launch Date.

Footnote Finds Pole Climbed Before Paragraph Written
¹ The bill would revise a definition of emergency responders to add utility line technicians. The bureau finds this reassuring and suspicious: the climbing preceded the category. Our own lists name workers only after a campaign has concluded that they existed. See footnote 2, which adds line technicians to footnote 1 and awards them a banner for already being up the pole.

Two Losses Close Our Files, Open His Preface
Kennedy lost Senate races in 2004 and 2008. Reversal: in the hall, two losses close a file. In his record, two losses are a preface. Brother Dale asks whether the company will recognize prefaces, since our grievance about the cracked locker room bench has sat in its second paragraph for six years.

Assistant Files Department Head Under Clerical Tasks
The office assistant tool reads 'Secretary' and files the whole Department of Revenue from 1996 to 1999 under 'administrative tasks, automatable.' She corrects it: this secretary ran the department. The tool apologizes, upgrades the label to 'executive administrative tasks, automatable,' and attaches her severance estimate, calculated in the same unit as her calendar invites: fifteen minutes.

Memo: Technical Debt Now Qualifies For Fair Interest
TO: Platform Leads. RE: Debt policy. Per the 1999 proposals that halted the accrual of interest on tax liabilities nobody was notified about, our tech debt stops compounding wherever no alert reached its owner. Audit shows the cron-parser debt never notified anyone, since its alert address is a mailbox deleted in 2016. Interest: frozen. Principal: still ours, still on fire. Action: notify nobody, to preserve fairness.

Graduate Charts The Shipwreck Density Of His Applicant Portal
I propose the Wreck Index: sunken applications per survey. A federal rule once asked oil companies for archaeological reviews of the ocean floor, to catalog shipwrecks. My talent pool holds 212 of my applications resting at depth, hulls intact, cargo of keywords unexcavated. Surveys performed: zero. Index: undefined. Divers report that barnacles have settled on my 2021 submission, and the portal now lists them as three years of relevant experience.
